Voices from the Past, A Retrospective from Prince Edward Heights, Episode 6, October, 2020 The series explored the history of Prince Edward Heights, a former institution for people with intellectual disabilities. This six-part series, an original 99.3 County FM production, shared the story of “The Heights,” recording the facility in PEC history. The idea for this unique project was introduced by Suzanne Pasternak, a gifted storyteller who spent over 33 years collecting oral histories from across Eastern Ontario. Broadcast as part of Grapevine Magazine, this series provides public education about fraud prevention, with a focus on a wide variety of scams against seniors.
The documentary was created in partnership with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP, The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association, and the Municipality of the County of Prince Edward, County FM.
The series, narrated by Wendy Mesley, each week explores a common type of scam, presents compelling experiences from victims and their families, and provides tips for prevention. Some names of those interviewed have been changed at their request.

Built in 1889 on Consecon Street in Wellington, this large white building has been both an entertainemtn venue and Masonic Meeting Hall. Researcher Pearl Hucul.

Reflections on Lives and Times in Prince Edward County, A Tale of Two Rivals, legal dispute, 1870 Reflections on the Lives and Times in Prince Edward County is a series of 23 radio vignettes on the history of the County. The series was funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Program, Government of Canada, and sponsored by Base31. In this episode, a meandering stream led to a bitter fight between the Roblin family and Jesse Potter in the 1870s over ownership of a stream. Ironically, the rivals were laid to rest side by side in a little graveyard that straddles both Proerties. Researcher: Brenda Shardlow.

This episode is on the story of County resident Reuben Pearce who fought in the US Civil War. Reuben's journey and return to his farm in Wellington spanned several years.

The Ayle of Quinte Skiff Club rows out of Waupoos Marina, bringing seafaring adventure to the County. Their main vessel is the Saint Ayles Skuff which birdges Scottish traditions with moderrn passions. Researcher: Brenda Shardlow.
